What we offer:

STARSkate Group Lesson   Each session of this program offers a fully guided 60-minute group lesson with two nationally accredited professional coaches to teach skaters figure skating fundamentals and to learn how to train. STARSkaters of all levels are encouraged to register for group lessons. Skaters have the option of Monday and/or Saturday sessions.

STARSkate Group Lesson costs include ice fees, coach mileage for regularly scheduled coaches, and coaching fees for group lessons.

Private Lesson Ice – Registered club STARSkaters who wish to pursue private or semi-private lessons with one of our coaches, in conjunction with group lessons, have the option to do so on specific dates/times each week.

Private Lesson Ice costs include ice fees only.  Fees do not include any coaching fees or coach mileage fees. Private/semi-private lessons must be arranged directly with a coach who is authorized by the SRSC – please confirm coach availability before registering for private lesson ice. STARSkate for Fall/Winter 2018-19:

STARGroup Lessons for STAR 1 to Gold (includes all coaching and ice fees):

Monday – Group Lesson – Ile Des Chenes:
Location: Ile Des Chenes Arena
Start/End Dates: September 30, 2019 – March 23, 2020 (please see the Calendar of Events for full details)
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Cost: $375

Saturday – Group Lesson and Private Ice – Lorette:
Location: Lorette Community Complex
Start/End Dates: October 5, 2019 – March 21, 2020 (please see the Calendar of Events for full details)
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on ice (10:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. off ice training)
Cost: $500 (combine with Saturday Private Lesson ice for $750)

Please Note:  STARSkate Group Lesson times are not transferable between days. Skaters must attend the group lessons they are registered for.

Private Lesson Ice (includes ice fees only – does not include any applicable coaching fees) **Please make arrangements with one of our coaches directly for lessons during these ice times.

A 10 session Private Ice book maybe be purchased in-person for $200 (good for either Wednesday or Saturday Private Ice).  Please contact the club directly to purchase.

Wednesday – Private Lesson Ice – Lorette:
Location: Lorette Community Complex
Start/End Dates: October 2, 2019 – March 25, 2020 (please see the Calendar of Events for full details)
Time: 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday – Private Lesson Ice – Lorette:
Location: Lorette Community Complex
Start/End Dates: October 5, 2019 – March 21, 2020 (please see the Calendar of Events for full details)
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

An annual $45 Skate Canada Insurance Fee is required per registered STARSkater.

Please note: Volunteering and Fundraising is required of all registered skating families.

Drop-In Fees for Private Lesson Ice:

Club (adult and STAR 5) & visiting STARskaters are welcome to attend during Private Lesson Ice times on days other than what they have registered for, a casual ice fee of $25 per hour will apply, paid at time of use.

 

About the Program:

STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages (who have previously completed a minimum of CanSkate 5) to develop fundamental figure skating skills. Unique in Canada and coached by STARSkate Canada Professional coaches, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives.  Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally ​standardized testing system and to compete at ​various competitions throughout our region and the province of Manitoba.

Payment Options:

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer.  Optional payment plan of 6 equal payments (cheque or e-transfer only: dated the 1st of the month, October to March) is available.

SRSC skating families can apply for funding assistance for skating programming through KidSport Manitoba and/or Canadian Tire’s JumpStart program, please visit both links for the online applications and to see if you qualify.
