CanSkate for Fall/Winter 2021-2022

Monday – Ile des Chenes Arena

Session Fee: $295 + $45 Yearly Skate Canada Insurance Fee

Wednesday – Lorette Arena

Saturday – Lorette Arena

New for 2021-2022 – Advanced CanSkate!

The Advanced Canskate program is designed for skaters age 9 and up or skating at a stage 3+ level. The program is different in that it is fully coached and is geared towards skaters who are interested in continuing to work on their badge skills at a more advanced level with a concentration on the skaters choice of hockey, ringette and/or figure skating specific skills. Skaters may be recommended by coaches to move up to the Advanced Canskate Program to meet the needs of the athlete.

About the Program:

CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Based on Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity.

This 45-minute program is taught by 100% NCCP certified professional coaches, and is intended for skaters who have existing confidence on the ice.

Please ensure skaters come equipped with skates, CSA approved skating helmet, mitts, splash pants, and a sweater/jacket.


Payment Options:

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer. Optional payment plan of 5 equal payments (cheque or e-transfer only: dated the 1st of the month, October to February) is available.

SRSC skating families can apply for funding assistance for skating programming through KidSport Manitoba and/or Canadian Tire’s JumpStart program, please visit both links for the online applications and to see if you qualify.
