Skate Stronger, Harder, Faster
CanPOWERSkate programs focus on strengthening the skater’s balance, power, agility, speed and endurance – the skills required for success in hockey and ringette!
CanPowerSkate for FALL/WINTER 2020/2021:
Not being offered this season. Check back in January 2021 for Spring programming information.
About the Program:
CanPOWERSkating classes are intended for skaters with prior skating experience, and are not suitable for new skaters due to the fast paced format.
Players should be able to skate forwards the length of the ice, stop on command and skate backwards. CanPowerSkate is the only nationally regulated power skating program in Canada. It was developed by a team of hockey, figure skating and ringette experts to teach the fundamentals of power skating in a progressive and sequential manner.
Our CanPOWERSkate program will help develop skating abilities for hockey and/or ringette players in a power skating-specific environment. Group lessons are taught by a Certified Skate Canada Professional coach, and will include balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills.
CanPOWERSkate has been designed to run concurrently with CanSkate sessions. Children who do not meet the CanPOWERSkate requirements will be moved into the CanSkate session.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer.
